Circular Economy Academy for Entrepreneurs and Consumers

BACKGROUND

Circular economy is one of the three key components of the country’s sustainability strategy, known as the BCG Economy Model, which is related to many dimensions in the economic, social, and environmental systems of the country.

To efficiently advance the circular economy generated by business sectors such as hospitality, tourism, agriculture, food, and others, it is crucial to prioritize innovation in management and technology. This will provide direct solutions and value to entrepreneurs. The process can be achieved by using a body of knowledge in the circular economy that has been systematically analyzed, developed, and transferred. The system involves exchanging knowledge among networks of entrepreneurs, learning from the circular economy, analyzing research data, and supporting circular economy related activities and behaviors of SMEs entrepreneurs and consumers who are critical stakeholders.

Furthermore, policies, legal measures, and regulations must be implemented to attain the circular economy’s strategic objective. This responsibility lies with both the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, who must work seriously with the Joint Public-Private Sectors Committee.

The Circular Economy Academy for Entrepreneurs and Consumers, initiated by the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, was approved by the University Council during their 5/2022 meeting on July 22, 2022. The CE Academy opened on August 1, 2022, as a collaboration between the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand, with the Circular Economy and Environment Committee as a key supporter.
